A Message to Our Community,
After thoughtful discussions, we have collectively decided that a formal HOA structure seems to create more divisiveness and conflict than it resolves. Since we, as residents, do not own the land and therefore lack official authority as an HOA, its primary function has been organizational rather than administrative.
Moving forward, we will continue to refer to ourselves as the Resident Association, but there will no longer be any formal governing officials of this association. Instead, every individual resident will be considered an equal member of the Resident Association, with equal power and authority.
We believe we already achieve effective organization and unity through our existing communication methods, such as our WhatsApp group, and with the addition of our newly created website, which will be continuously maintained to serve as a valuable resource.
We deeply appreciate every individual who has contributed their time and effort to the formal HOA in the past and present. Your work has been instrumental in fostering the sense of community we enjoy today. Rather than holding elections for new HOA positions, we propose maintaining our informal, organic approach to community support and connection.
Our WhatsApp group has proven to be an effective way for the community to come together and address specific issues. When a concern arises, we see everyone uniting to communicate with the appropriate entities—whether that’s park management, ownership, HCD, or others.
We encourage everyone to continue reaching out directly to external entities when needed and, if assistance is required, to bring those concerns to the WhatsApp group. Additionally, our website now includes a forum, which can serve as a helpful tool for tracking ongoing issues and keeping things organized.
Let’s continue to foster the supportive and connected spirit that makes our community special. Thank you to everyone for your contributions and dedication to our shared home.
